WHAT MAKES THIS TRAINING UNIQUE?
CarbonClass is a course based on the real-world experience of Carbon.Crane's experts in digital carbon footprint monitoring and reduction, feedback from our collaboration with universities on educational programs, and the continuously updated results of research published in the field.
Theory, Case Studies, Practice.
In this 180-minute workshop, you will learn about the concept of a digital carbon footprint, measurement and diagnostics solutions, and opportunities to reduce emissions. In addition to theoretical knowledge, practical examples will be used to demonstrate the solutions that can be applied to achieve reductions, and their impact on the most affected operational area of a business: marketing.
In the second half of the workshop, we will focus on practical application: you can also try out the measurement, monitoring, and modeling tools we use.
Finally, you will be able to assess your knowledge through a series of questions based on what you have learned, and those who successfully complete the test will receive a badge that can be placed on LinkedIn to prove they have completed CarbonClass.
Students who have taken CarbonClass so far have given a score of 4.5 out of 5 on how new the course content was to them. Still not convinced? 100% said they would recommend CarbonClass to their fellow students.
Who are we?
Carbon.Crane is an enthusiastic team of marketing experts and data scientists who believe that the carbon footprint of the nearly 200 million active websites and more than 350 billion daily emails could and should be measured and reduced. We monitor hundreds of thousands of URLs on a regular basis, from high-traffic news sites to heavily used banking sites and brand sites. Our experience across this broad spectrum helps our partners to reduce their carbon footprint and creates a unique opportunity to prepare the next generation to do so.
WHAT DOES CARBONCLASS OFFER YOU?
You'll know what a digital carbon footprint is and understand the options for reducing it.
You'll be able to measure the actual carbon footprint of a page, identify the components that cause its emissions, and model the reduction potential.
If you pass the test, you'll also get a badge from us to prove all this to others.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
The digital carbon footprint is expected to grow even when other areas' footprint is shrinking. Yet few people are aware of the carbon footprint and energy demand of the most important digital tools: websites and emails. Not to mention that carbon reduction also means energy savings, and it goes hand in hand with improved user experience and SEO results.
